YAMABUSHI MONKS

Did You Know that –
Japan’s Yamabushi monks go on a very difficult five-mile hike up a 1,300-year-old route to the top of a mountain;
Then they hang from the mountain,
1,000 feet up in the air,
suspended by a single rope,
head down backward,
and confess their sins?
I would prefer to drive in my air-conditioned car to the nearest Catholic Church,
Go into a room (called a Reconciliation Room)
Sit down in a chair,
Or kneel on a kneeler,
Confess my sins to an ambassador of God (a priest),
Have my sins forgiven for certain (since Jesus, God’s only Son gave that power to him),
Receive absolution (which we hear),
Do a little penance,
And drive home.
Jesus is SO GOOD to us.
Do we Thank Him?
